Town Parks

The Town's many beautifully maintained parks are a source of pride in our community.  They are available to the public at no charge.

Reservations are not accepted at our parks, however, facilities within the parks (soccer fields in Memorial and Centennial Parks, ball diamonds in Memorial & Centennial Parks, gazebo in Queen's Royal Park, and the bandshell in Simcoe Park, etc.) can be reserved by calling the Parks & Recreation office at 905-468-3266.

Propane Barbecues are allowed at St. Davids Lions Park, Centennial Park, and Memorial Park, please see By-Law 5306A-21 for more information.

Washroom availability and hours have changed due to COVID-19.

  • Effective Saturday, March 27, 2021, the public washrooms at Queen's Royal Park, Simcoe Park, and the Virgil Sports Park are open 7-days a week, from 8 AM to 8 PM, with physical distance markers and additional signage, reminding the public to wear a mask, maintain a safe physical distance of 2 metres, wash/sanitize their hands frequently and avoid touching their face.
  • The Market Street public washroom, located in Old Town behind the Courthouse, does not close for the winter season and remains open 7-days a week from 8 AM – 8 PM. 
  • Public washrooms at Memorial Park and at the Information Centre, located at Fort George, remain closed at this time but will reopen later in the season.
  • The Town has a bottle fill station at both Arenas, the Market St washroom, the Courthouse (near public washrooms), and the Water Fountain on Queen St.

Mississauga and Queen Street Garden

The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake is looking for groups or organizations celebrating major milestones in 2020. This will be celebrated in the flower bed at Mississauga Street & Queen St. In order to be considered applicants must submit a letter to the Parks and Recreation office by September 30, 2019. This letter should explain the major milestone/anniversary and also give some background information on the group/organization. A group/organization will be selected on an annual basis. The recipient will work with the Parks and Recreation staff on the design. There is a $1000 cost associated with the group who is chosen.
