Pools & Splash Pads

The reopening of the Niagara Pool and Virgil Splash Pad aligns with allowances outlined Stage 2 of the Province’s Recovery Plan, which permits the safe and gradual reopening and use of public pools and splash pads.


The Town’s Niagara Pool, located in Memorial Park, in Old Town, will reopen to the public for lane swimming and camp activities on June 29, 2020.

Individuals wishing to participate in lane swims must book and pre-pay for their lane online. Walk-in bookings will not be permitted, however, that restriction is subject to change.

To cancel a lane booking, please connect with Town Staff by calling 905-468-4FUN. 24-hours notice is required to cancel a booking. In the event of inclement weather or an unforeseen pool closure, a refund or credit would automatically be applied.

Swimmers must be above the age of 13 to participate in lane swimming.

How to register for a lane swim: 

The Virgil Splash Pad, located in Centennial Sports Park, in Virgil, will reopen 7-days a week beginning June 29, 2020.

Hours: 9 AM – 6 PM (subject to change) for public use.

*In order to meet Public Health guidelines and to ensure the health and safety of those using the Virgil Splash Pad, the following safety measures are being implemented:

  • A Town Staff member will be onsite at all times, ensuring rules and regulations are adhered to at all times and encouraging appropriate physical distancing.
  • Use of the splash pad will be permitted in 25-minute intervals followed by 5 minutes of crowd transition. Intervals will begin every hour and every half hour 2 (i.e. at 9:00 AM and 9:30 AM). Space will be limited, and use will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • Periods of thorough sanitization will occur throughout the day.
  • A fence will be erected around the splash pad with a designated entrance and exit. Space within the fenced area will be reserved for splash pad participants only.
  • Signage will be posted around the splash pad area, reminding guests to maintain physical distance from those outside their group.
  • On-site public washrooms will be open.

While public washrooms at Memorial Park will remain closed, change rooms, including washroom stalls, will be open for use by those using the pool only. Anyone requiring assistance with the registration procedure can email aquatics@notl.com.

*The Simcoe Park Wading Pool will remain closed for the time being, however, staff will continue to assess the possibility of its reopening.

*The St. Davids Pool will be closed for the season.
